As if we wanted to worry about something else, one of the trends that has most baby boomers worried is the aging and ultimate retirement of one of the biggest generations in history. According to some dooms day scenarios (well maybe not so much as gloom), is that when the baby boomer generation ages it will place previously unseen demands on our health care system, retirement system (including Social Security), and worst of all, probably mean that there will be more old hat wearing farts driving sweet luxury sports cars.
Tomorrow and Thursday those already enjoying retirement and confronting the health care demands of longer life expectancy can enjoy an exposition focused on health care options. The activity, which will be held in the Coliseo Rubén Rodrgiuez in Bayamón, has as its aim to inform the youth-challenged of Puerto Rico about the medical services that they need. Which, if you think about it, is kind of harsh to put it. Hey, we know you're either sick or going to be sick, so come and learn how we can make money off of you. Oops, oh no I didn't just write that, did I?
The activity starts at 8:00 AM, although the participants wanted it to start at 5:00 AM. One potential participant reprimanded, "Remember, when you hit 65, like I have, you immediately switch to day-life saving time, which just throws your sleeping habits all to hell". The event is free of cost and will feature over 150 exhibitors from the following health care providers:
- Government agencies
- Health clinics
- Hospitals
- Doctors
- Medical equipment
- Pharmacies
- Pharmaceutical Companies
- Laboratories
- and more.
- Iris Chacón and The Orchestra of Junno Faria, sponsored by MMM
- Silverio Perez, Susa, and Epifanio, sponsored by Triple-S
- Andy Montañez, Francisco Rosa, and Yoyo Boing, sponsored by MCS Classicare
- among others.
