SAN JUAN – Puerto Rican police on Tuesday (1/4/11) found a cayman in an abandoned house in Old San Juan that was presumably being used to “guard” a stash of illegal drugs hidden there.
The San Juan security commissioner, Hilton Cordero, said in a communique that the reptile was found tethered inside the house in the La Perla neighborhood, where 196 bags of cocaine, 30 of heroin, 37 of marijuana and 76 Percoset tablets were also found.
Cordero said that the drugs were discovered during a preventive patrol made by municipal police officers in the zone. EFE
